It’s been an exciting few months for App47.
We’ve been spending a lot of time updating the App47 platform to be more user-friendly, secure, and useful than ever before. In the past few weeks, we’ve made announcements about a new UI for our App Store, as well as a brand new API designed to eliminate the deficiencies of App47 APIv1.
Today, we’re going to talk briefly about another exciting update: single sign-on.
The App47 platform has always supported LDAP and Active Directory for onboarding users, but we’ve received many requests to integrate with SSO servers to make the onboarding process easier and more streamlined. With a recent update, we’ve done just that.
With the addition of the ability to add in SSO servers to both the App Store and the onboarding process, App47 administrators now have the ability to add users to the platform through SSO. We support multiple SSO server definitions, so you can have as many end points for your users as you want, including AD, LDAP, and the new SSO servers.
Administrators can also configure session lengths at both the group and individual level, meaning you can dictate how long a session lasts, and thus how often your users have to reauthenticate themselves when using the App Store.
Not only does this streamline the onboarding process for companies; it also gives the option for users to onboard themselves to the platform at their own pace rather than being signed up all at once.
We hope that this change will make it easier for our customers to quickly and securely sign up users. If you’re a current user and would like access to the SSO feature, let us know and we’ll help with the update. We started with a few common SSO implementations, so if you don’t see yours, let us know and we’d love to put it at the top of the next release.
