With the dog days behind us, we’re shaking off the summer mindset. Business, not the beach, is again everyone’s first priority. It’s also high season for family insanity. That means back-to-school responsibilities, coordinating soccer practice with piano recitals, finishing science projects and hurrying to rehearsal for the school play. And all the while, you still need to handle the shopping, take care of the dog, and make time for dinner and movie on the weekend.

The Ultimate Soccer Dad

Thankfully, there’s a universe of mobile apps available to bring order to the chaos. Plenty of enterprise and consumer apps that help schedule, sort, and even select all the stepped up action we experience every autumn.

Our mobile devices host personal arsenals of apps that improve our business productivity and help manage our personal sanity.

We did a quick poll around the office and among friends to highlight a few of the favorites keeping us on schedule, in touch, and ahead of the game:

  • Cozi – This family calendar and list management app keeps everyone on the same virtual page. Manage schedules, sort shopping lists, assign chores — the days of forgetting the milk are over.
  • Soccer Dad – Our marketing head (who has to wrangle four kids each playing on their own soccer team, and shoulder coaching duties as well) swears by this app to keep teams organized, schedules set, and kick-offs on time.
  • UrbanDaddy – It’s been a long week of carpools and conference calls. But you better not forget the better half! If you’re brain-dead on ideas for a fun night out, this app is a blast. You’ll find something cool to do for just the two of you in a few taps. Just make sure you have a sitter on standby!
  • Burst – You’re at the swim meet or dance recital, and you want to share that super-cute vid with grandma and grandpa a few states away — but you don’t want to put it all over social media for everyone to see. That’s why Burst is brilliant.
  • Stitcher Radio – For news junkies on the move, reading might be a lost luxury. Here’s a way to tune in to news on just about any subject, and ears are all you need. Set your priority topics, and stay informed.
  • Fanium – Winning in fantasy football demands dedication. If you’re not managing your team like a mad scientist, you’re destined for dead last in the office league. This is the All Pro mobile app that won’t let that happen.
  • CoffeeFast – This time of year, you can’t afford to go without that go-go juice. Don’t lose your cool because you can’t find where to score your next cup.
