This week, we just did a demo of our abilities to integrate the G Suite MDM with App47. A few of our customers, like Avery Dennison, are doing this already, so we thought we’d take a moment to share why we think this is a good approach to consider.

If you’ve been online in the last 10 years, you’re probably familiar with G Suite, Google’s collection of products like Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, and more. What you may not  know is that G Suite also has an MDM (Google calls it mobile management). The G Suite MDM integrates with the rest of G Suite and uses the same sign on process, which makes it a great solution for companies already invested in G Suite.

Google’s G Suite MDM has a lot of good features already, from password strength detection for users, to jailbreak detection, single sign-on, and data encryption. It also offers a way to push apps out to devices. The catch is that this feature is only available for public apps from Google Play and iTunes, not the wide range of app types that App47 can offer (private, public, web, Volume Purchase Program, and B2B).

What App47 offers on top of all this functionality is a way to use Oauth to provide an authenticated–that is, SSO–way to identify and authorize user devices. This gives you a full-featured enterprise app store where users can self-manage their devices, provide reviews, request support, and download and install the apps they need. We also offer a way to enforce app upgrades, security, and data wipe at the app level for users who may not be subscribed to the G Suite MDM. Put together, all of this makes for a great solution that integrates well with technology already at use throughout your business.

While you might think that the G Suite MDM and App47 are competitors, in reality, we’re anything but. Google’s MDM (and the rest of the G Suite) provide a good foundation upon which to build. App47 builds upon the strengths of the G Suite MDM, giving you a convenient end product with single sign-on that’s tightly integrated into the other functions of the G Suite your employees already use.

This is an easy approach for us to implement, so if you’d like to learn more about how G Suite works with App47, get in touch with us today by email at info@app47.com!
