December is upon us! As we’re just weeks away from 2018, the App47 team figured that now is as good a time as ever to look back on 2017 and see what all we’ve accomplished.
2017 was another exciting year for us. We kicked off this year with several exciting new updates to the App47 platform, including a new App Store UI, the addition of single sign-on, and the ability to export account data. Around the same time, we announced updates to our agent technology that would come to fruition later in the year. All of these features and updates were well-received by our customers, and we continue to look for ways to make our platform easier to use for all.
In addition to product updates, App47 went global this year, as well, with a trip to Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. MWC 2017 presented us with a look at the cutting-edge of Internet of Things technology–relevant to us because increasingly, “mobile” is coming to mean “anything not tied to a landline.” This led to discussions of something we dubbed the enterprise machine, like an ultrasound device with a tablet that displays data. The enterprise machine and IoT continue to evolve as important features in our industry.
App47 also made a trip to Washington to discuss policies that impact companies in the mobility space with around 40 congressional staffers. This was a fruitful conversation around copyright and trademark laws, patents, and the unintended consequences of writing laws without understanding the tech behind them. We’ll continue to advocate for sensible policy around mobile technology.
Elsewhere in the industry, we talked about key trends impacting App47, like the growing demand for enterprise mobile apps, the industries leading the way in mobility adoption (healthcare, retail, and field service chief among them), and the evolving need for a sophisticated mobility strategy within the enterprise. The mile-high summary is that as demand for apps continues to grow and companies continue to deploy them to employees, it’s more important than ever to have in place not only a detailed mobility strategy, but also the technology needed to effectively track and manage mobile applications.
Last but not least, we had a number of other conversations about App47, from where we are now to where we’re headed. We talked about what’s on our customers’ minds, how easy it is to customize within the App47 platform (without a custom price tag), and what else is coming down the pipeline with regards to product updates late this year and early in 2018. Again, we continue to remain focused on providing an excellent product for all of our customers–and that means always keeping an eye on where we can improve and add functionality.
All in all, it’s been a great year for us and our team, and we continue to look for ways to grow and improve as we head into 2018. We’re thankful to all our customers, friends, and readers for another great year, and can’t wait to see where 2018 takes us!
