You probably know we’ve been talking a lot lately about our preloaded enterprise app store. It’s a great place to get started if you’re looking to launch one for your organization. Not only is it easy to stand up, it comes ready-made with a suite of productivity, collaboration, and communication apps built to benefit any business.
And while it’s an awesome start to an enterprise app store, it’s exactly that — just a start. Everyone has those special favorite apps they use all the time, then casually mention to a friend or co-worker. It’s happened to each of us. You tell them, and they come back a week later saying, “That’s the coolest app ever! How come nobody else knows about that?”
Well, here’s your chance. We’d love to know what enterprise apps, beyond the essentials we’ve made available in our app store, you just can’t live without. They’re the “must-adds” you’d be sure to include when your own app store goes live.
If you’re looking for examples, we’re happy to go first. The list below includes some of our favorites within App47.
- ZenDesk – Great customer support app. Helps us manage interactions and expectations with real consistency.
- SpotHero – Kills the big-city parking blues. Reserve a spot; it’s waiting when you roll up. This has been a downtown-DC sanity saver.
- 1Password – If you use just one password for everything, you know that’s a mistake. But you also know what a drag it is to keep track of a dozen different passwords. Not a problem.
- Starbucks – Finds shops, makes it easy to pay. Now if it could only whip up a Venti boilermaker . . .
- Google+ Hangouts – Quickly proving to be a preferred way to collaborate and interact. Great multimedia capability.
There’s a slew of additional apps we use that can be very department-specific. Whether you’re a sales pro, event planner, social media manager — whatever — there are plenty of apps to help you and your team get things done, and they inevitably make their way into each team’s app store.
What essential apps would you include? Let us know what your favorites are in the comments!
As a social media manager, I’d be lost without Hootsuite and Sprout Social — essentials on my tablet and smartphone for managing client channels (Twitter, FB, G+, LI, etc.) and for tracking impact.
Thanks for the shout-out, Jay! Happy we could help make your job a bit easier.
