One of the highlights from MoDevDC’s Enterprise Mobility Smackdown podcast was an insight by fellow participant Philippe Winthrop on what the next acronym of note might be with respect to enterprise mobile apps. When asked what’s emerging from all the alphabet soup, Philippe answered without hesitation: MRM.
Mobile Risk Management (MRM) is fast becoming the top-of-mind concern for enterprise leadership weighing the advantages of app-driven mobility for their organizations. We’re all contending with BYOD, we’re all seeing CoIT, we’re all working to determine whether our approach to mobility is best managed at the device level, app level or a thoughtful balance of both.
We’re partnered with Fixmo, friends who excel in the MRM space, so it only makes sense that we access the expertise of their thought leaders and talk about how to find the best mix of device management, risk mitigation, and compliance assurance.
We’ve invited Fixmo CMO Tyler Lessard to author some guest blog posts, and are teeing up an episode or two of our What’s ‘Appening podcast dedicated to the issue.
Identifying the intersection of an organization’s defenses and an individual’s responsibility — and even [gulp] liability — is critical. It’s a point that can vary for every enterprise depending on their respective industries, internal policies, and especially their app usage, whether in-house or third party.
Our bet is that anyone contending with MRM (and really, everyone should be contending with MRM) will want to follow our dialog with Fixmo in the weeks ahead.
