Today’s a big day for Andy Glover, our much-sought-after CTO. Andy’s expertise has been in demand lately, and the trend continues with another appearance at the MoDevDC meetup this evening.
Andy’s talk, Ubiquitous App Development with PhoneGap, is going to explain how to build a web-based mobile app using HTML 5 and JavaScript within PhoneGap.
What’s PhoneGap, you ask? A breakthrough framework that let’s you build mobile apps in HTML 5 that can access device features usually reserved for native apps. You can use geolocation, accelerometer, even a camera!
There are still spots available, so check out the specifics. We hope to see you, 6 p.m. at TeqCorner, 1616 Anderson Rd., McLean, VA.
Did we mention there would be free beer and pizza?
If you can’t make it to MoDevDC tonight, take some time to listen to Andy’s recent appearance on The Tablet Show podcast. He discusses the process of building cross-platform apps, as well as the Adobe PhoneGap acquisition, and elaborates on what apps are well suited for cross-platform deployment vs. those that are better done native.
