You probably remember the Pythagorean theorem from high-school geometry. If A = B and B = C, then A = C. It’s a tasty bit of mathematical logic that can work beautifully when establishing connections in all kinds of situations. Mobile application management is a perfect example.
As I mentioned last week, I’m heading to MobileCon for a Fast Pitch event where I’ll get to talk up the advantages App47 brings to enterprise mobility.
My premise, in many ways, is a bold one: App47, specifically the advantages of MAM delivered by App47, is the very cornerstone of enterprise mobility itself. A couple years ago, we were amazed by a new universe of mobile capability. Apps were bestowing an incredible variety of precise power.
Now, we can get past the apps themselves. We’re all building them to suit our specific needs. What’s most urgent is the management of those mobile apps. MAM isn’t nice to have. MAM is fundamental. To get Pythagorean, MAM isn’t an important part of enterprise mobility. MAM is enterprise mobility. A = C.
That’s the message I’m bringing to MobileCon. As with any technological disruption — and we can go back to the start of computing, telecom, web apps, name it — the historical cycle is identical. There’s enthusiasm and uptake for the breakthrough itself, and when the dust settles and the challenges of everyday implementation emerge, we all huddle together and try to discover the best ways to manage the new creation. For enterprise mobility, which today is absolutely mobile app driven, that approach to management is MAM.
I’ll have three minutes to make that clear today. Set your timekeeper apps!
